SOO PHYE cut her teeth in the field of photography in a commercial studio before moving into the publishing line. As a photographer for the Blu Inc group of publications, Soo (as she is affectionately known) discovered an affinity for and innate talent in food, travel and interior photography.

She was the principal photographer for the group’s food magazines and recipe books such as Female Appetite, Her World Cookbook and A Taste of Batu Gajah. Under her creative leadership, the publications raised the bar for locally produced food titles and broke new ground in food photography and styling.

Soo was also a key contributor for Going Places and Glam Decor.

Over 10 years in the publishing industry, Soo has also worked on a vast number of other subjects ranging from avant garde and edgy fashion and beauty spreads to heart-warming portraitures and profile pictures, still life, interiors, food and others. Her extensive body of work has appeared in titles such as Going Places, Glam Decor, Her World, Marie Claire, Female, EH, Glam, NuYou, Shape, Men Health and The Peak, among others.

Her fastidious perfectionist approach to work – which often drives her to go the extra mile – is balanced by an easy going, flexible and personable working style, making her the ideal partner in every project.
